I've Got a Peaceful Easy Feeling that You Won't Let Me Down

What I love about October:: the weather (warm days, cool breezes, leaves changing) Halloween (pumpkins, candy, costumes) and my new love for October . . . MULBERRY for Target. Yes, the English Luxury Brand is collaborating with Target and the line will be in stores October 10th through Christmas. What this means you might ask... well you know when you browse online staring blankly at handbags on the screen that range from $1,000-$3,000. you're salivating, you're questioning how you could pay (sell your eggs, plasma, there has to be a way) then comes the feeling of acceptance. Unless you win the lottery you will never be able to carry a bag like that... THAT IS UNTIL NOW! Mulberry is known for there impecable high quality and standards. Just because they are designing for Target does not mean they won't live up to what they are known for. Here's a little history: According to Stephanie Sims, Entertainment Reporter, Mulberry was founded in 1971 in Somerset, England by Roger Saul and his mother. This mother-son team started Mulberry and began designing handbags, later branching out into womenswear, menswear, footwear, and even furniture. They immediately became known for the amazing quality of their designs. This is another collaboration like others we've seen before however this is Mulberry's first time collaborating to create a less expensive line. I have a feeling there will be more to come, Lanvin for H & M, Valentino for Gap? These are in the works which means for the first time in my life I actually might own a piece of clothing in my closet that has the label Valentino! I can't wait.

This is what we have to look forward too, minus the ridiculously expensive price. Head to your nearest Target and treat yourself, or others. These purses would make great Christmas gifts.

Walking in Memphis

Booties, Booties, Booties Every girl needs a pair for Fall. I decided to compare. We don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on shoes. Check out the deals on the left side. They look the same or I guess you can say eerily similar to the more expensive booties on the right. So you decide. Which pair do you want to rock with your minis, leggings, and jeans this Fall? I'm going with the ones on the left.

There's A Feeling I Get When I Look To The West

The air is cooler. I grab my closed toe flats instead of sandals. I wear my tank top but bring my sweater. The little things that remind us how few moments are left of the hot summer sun, short shorts, and mini skirts. Fall is here and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m not sure what it is about Fall that generally puts me in a more relaxed, hippie esque mood. It could be that when it starts to become cooler, I start to layer. One, two, maybe even three tops. A tank, a short sleeve, a sweater plus jeans, boots, and mounds of jewelry. Fall makes getting dressed so much easier. And, I think the best news ladies for Fall is that….Wide Leg Jeans are BACK! Remember when, about two years ago, we replaced are comfortable wide legs with tight skinnies. Well, it’s time to dig through your drawers, rummage your closets and find your old best friends. Any kind of denim can be dressed up or down, but there’s something about flares that makes my heart flutter. To me, they are the epitome of feminine. Pair some flares with a floral top you have girly. Pair them with plaid and you have a whole new look. Whichever way you decide to take it, make it your own. Rock it ladies! Maybe our flares will spark that creativity we never had, Janis Joplin here we come !

I Got Soul But I'm Not A Soldier

So, did anybody watch the MTV Video Music Awards? Lady Gaga was fabulous and looked amazing in all of her outfit changes, as usual. Katy Perry’s dress was gorgeous. And Rihanna, I mean, LOVED IT.. and her new red hair. I couldn’t help but be transfixed with Rihanna’s boots and her dress. It was a perfect pair. I decided to take her look and produce it in an inexpensive way. First of all this is a look that is so easy to pull off. Take a girly piece, like a frilly dress or floral print skirt, and pair it with army boots. Seriously this is so in for fall. ANDDDDD even more exciting news is that DOLCE VITA!!! YES DOLCE VITA has designed an inexpensive shoe line for Target so all of your fall must haves are super cheap.

Give a little bit. . . Give a little bit of your love. .

When was the last time you bought something knowing that your purchase was actually giving back to someone in need? Let me tell you what I am obsessed with right now. The thought of spending money these days is kind of sickening just for the mere fact that I don’t have any money to spend . . . BUT I figure that when I do have an extra couple of dollars laying around and I do decide to splurge, why not be charitable. I mean I guess if you consider charitable buying something for yourself knowing that a donation will be made thanks to your splurge. So, in order to give back we should all buy a pair of TOMS. Honestly, I think these shoes are super cool and comfortable. You can dress them up or down and the price starts at $44 and goes up depending on color and style. However, for every one pair you purchase, TOMS donates one pair to a child in need. How can you not buy these?
After you buy a pair of TOMS I suggest you browse the Out Of Print clothing website and pick your favorite t-shirt. Out Of Print offers t-shirts displaying classic book covers and other favorites such as Catcher in the Rye, Brave New World, Of Mice and Men, … go check it out! For every shirt they sell, a book is donated to a community in need through their partner Books For Africa. The t-shirts are way cool and would make awesome gifts for friends, boyfriends, parents, anybody you know that enjoys reading.
I suggest that we combine our love of fashion with our love of charity. Let’s give back this month!
